When a box isn't enough, we build the crate.

Some things should never travel in a cardboard box: an oil painting, a marble tabletop, a grandfather clock, a museum-quality mirror, a server rack. For those items we build custom wooden crates — measured to the piece, lined with foam and padding, and braced so nothing shifts in transit.

Crating is standard practice for our long-distance lanes, where an item may ride 1,500 miles, but it is just as useful across town for a piece that is fragile, valuable, or simply irreplaceable. We crate on-site at your home or business the day before the move, so the piece is protected before it ever leaves the wall.

Tell your coordinator what you have and we will recommend the right level of protection — from a padded mirror carton to a fully braced, screwed-shut crate — and include it in your binding estimate.
