A piano is 300 to 1,200 pounds of cast iron, hardwood, and tension — and it is also the most emotionally loaded object in most homes. Moving one is not a two-guys-and-a-dolly job. It takes a piano board, heavy-duty straps, a crew of three or four, and someone who knows how a grand comes apart.
Our piano crews handle uprights and consoles on padded boards, and grands by removing the lid, pedal lyre, and legs, wrapping each piece, and securing the body on a skid board. We plan the path — stairs, turns, doorways, thresholds — before we touch the instrument, and we protect your floors along the way.
We move pianos on their own, as part of a full household move, and along every one of our long-distance lanes. After delivery, give the instrument a couple of weeks to settle before scheduling a tuning.
